One of the team is currently reading 'Memoirs of a Geisha' - a fictional true confession of one of Japan's most celebrated geisha. Which has currently brought us to the attention of these beautiful pieces found in the Kimono New York company located in NYC Garment district.
The kimono chaise and Hakama chair were created by design genius William Gordon and manufacturer extroadinaire Walter P. Sauer. Both exquisite designs are made from traditional Japanese kimono fabric made from Nishijin silk obi. This type of weave originated from Kyoto, Japan and is considered a style of Art due to it's capability to produce complex weaving patterns and is only seen nowadays in wedding attire or clothing for formal occasions.
