MATTRESSES: MEDIA STROM

Need a good nights' sleep?

We pride ourselves on stocking the finest quality brands of mattresses. Since you spend around a third of your life in bed choosing the right bed has never been such an important decision. To help select the perfect bed, we recommend you lie on your back and your side to find the right level of comfort & support. We have put together a guide to the different types of bedding available to ensure you get the best night's sleep possible.

Leading the way in the world of mattresses in Greece are Media Strom, whose aim is to simply "Let them make your life more comfortable and more fulfilling". Extensive research and development has gone into every product to ensure they offer a restful nights sleep for the consumer.

Mattresses

How your mattress feels will depend on the springs and filling. All of our mattresses are available in varying sizes, widths, and are anti-allergy as standard.

• Open coil – a traditional spring system which uses high-tensile steel to form a
hard-wearing, comfortable and supportive platform
• Continuous link – this is made from a single length of wire ‘knitted’ into a series of interwoven springs, linked vertically rather than horizontally, that feel more responsive than the springs in an open coil mattress
• Pocket sprung – rows of smaller, lightweight springs of varying shapes and sizes, each housed separately in a fabric pocket, making the mattress more flexible (good for couples sharing a bed, as the mattress contours to individual body shape)
• Memory foam – for space age comfort, try this mattress, made from revolutionary foam originally developed for NASA. It moulds to your shape once warmed by your body heat, to provide great support.
• Latex – a naturally derived biodegradable product. It comes from the rubber tree. Latex is hypo-allergenic, and breathes to keep you warm in the winter and cool in the summer. Bacteria, mildew, and mold cannot live in latex foam. Independent tests prove that latex foam is three times more resistant to dust mites and bacteria than ordinary mattresses. Latex mattresses are the king of all mattresses. Latex and foam mattresses are known to be "no flip" mattresses. The quality of the product is such that it does not require flipping or turning and also has longevity lasting up to 30 years. Suffer from back pain? Look no further; a Latex foam mattress is for you as it naturally adjusts to the contours of your body, providing gentle orthopaedic support that maintains proper spinal alignment without restricting capillary blood flow.

There is a wide range of products from Media Strom available at EpiploAris some of which are shown as below and taken from the Media Strom catalogue (Greece).

Apologies in advance as the photos are not of excellent quality but will hopefully give you a general idea and also it is not translated into English yet. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact us.

If we took a holiday...

It would be here at the lust-worthy Mystique Resort in Santorini, Greece.

This is one of the first installments of stylish hotels with the utmost attention to design, function and use of textures which we would like to share with you.
At Epiplo Aris we are dreaming of a summer holiday and this is one of the most amazing hotels that took our breath away.

Mystique Resort is built on one of the most dramatic cliff faces in Oia, Santorini overlooking the infamous Caldera. To say the least it's set in one of the most beautiful locations on earth. This luxurious hotel was listed in Conde Nast Traveler's Hot List 2008 amongst a large number of acclaimed media titles and there is a reason why.

The hotel design is simply stunning and encapsulates what is best known as 'Cave Art style', with white moulded pieces of furniture made from boulders and headboards made from drift-wood.

This pool captures one of the best views on earth. Dreamy...

Spacious Suites using a mixture of natural textures.

Cocktails are served poolside, what more could you ask for?

There is a subtle romantic air about this place, definitely perfect for a Honeymoon getaway, for more information check out http://www.mystique.gr

Reiko Kaneko - Designer extraodinaire

This morning, whilst doing our daily rounds of blogs, Epiplo Aris spotted this rather dazzling design by Reiko Kaneko. We love it!

The dapple light is made with Veneer wood (very 70's) and on the inside - a billion pieces of tiny mirror mosaics, kinda like a disco ball. When the lights switched on you get this amazing blast of light smattering the walls. Beautiful!
