Beautiful Blue

I came across this living room a while back via Material Girls, and i have to say, I love everything about this room. Can i please move in? I love the ikat style upholstery on the white chairs, zebra rug, gorgeous floor lamps and the elements of slick glossy black.

I also love a dark inky blue too

Booky Bonanza: Stylish cool bookcases

During a relatively chilled weekend & I caught an episode of 'Castle' which is quite rare as I don't tend to follow this show and usually TV is my background noise whenever the boring house duties are carried out. Anyhow, I was struck by the Amnesia struck victim in 'Castle' whose apartment just rocked. Refer to 'Castle' 2, episode 11. Anyhow this guys apartment had one very hip diagonal bookcase very similar to the one below by Moletamunro but with equal spacing. I love this bookcase which is also seen as a cool, modern free standing solution for storing just about everything else too. Available in an oak veneer finish and also other stains. Me like a lot!
Since the obsession with diagonal bookcases and storage, i've scoured the net for more stylish booky solutions, enjoy! All the website below are seriously amazing, you'll want to buy everything up, all the pieces are so drool worthy!

A touch of design

Most fashion design power houses have extended to Home Interiors, which is great, but do they really live up to the name? At the moment, we're loving Versace Home, whose 'modern' ranges of Sofas, chairs & armchairs are so luxe and so must-have-now. The conceptual design, quality and craftsmanship is all there, plus the signature Versace style (look closely on their site and you'll see the logo) & we love that they also offer an interior styling/design service too.

Be warned, you, like me will want to ditch & replace any previous interior ideas you had for you home for something like this. This totally inspiring home belongs to Julie Richard of SHELTER Interior Design, Boston, USA. I love the use of colour and print on the cushions throughout her home. I've been looking at new outdoor summery prints and upholstery fabrics by Quadrille for my next post and wondering what I should upholster my antique dining chairs with. I absolutely adore the zebra print chairs over at Elements of Style.

A Stylish, Hip family home

It's probably a little early to start warbling about something else since the last post but I swear this is worth you guys dribbling over the design and wow factory of awesome design duo and their 7 kids home in New York, USA. Yup, that was seven children, couldn't quite grasp that at first... Introducing Robert & Cortney Novogratz family home of sixxdesign.com.

There's an incredible amount of light throughout their downtown family home and the kitchen is where it all happens and where the family get together. It's not too shabby either with zebrawood (from Brazil) throughout the entire house. The Chaise lounge is from Soho-treasures.com amongst a few of their other stylish finds.

Yes, this indeed is an indoor basketball court as well as a football ct and skating rink and guess what? It also transforms into a movie theatre, ain't this just too cool for school this! Lucky kids!

The windows were put in specially throughout the house allowing them views of the Hudson River, perfect. Oh and the big sleek grey thing that is a table is a limited edition piece by Zaha Radid, from Rove (rovetv.net), London.

Eddie Ross & Elle Decor's Big Window Challenge

There are basically 3 designers taking part in this rather exciting Big Window Challenge which Apartment Therapy is holding. These talented people have to design a window for Bloomingdale's flagship store in Manhattan, favourite one wins! I've been particularly bowled over Eddie Ross gorgeous feminine styling for the Modern Woman and couldn't resist but vote for him. The design is exactly what I would go for, I particularly love the mixing and matching of the cushions, prints, the antique touches here and there, the Chinoiserie & a dash of pink!

I love this little bar area and the detailing with brass flowers and silverware.

Interior Designer - Kara Mann

Who? Kara Mann is a Chicago based interior designer, who established her own company a few years ago, and since then become an unstoppable force in the Interior Design world.

Her work is a combination of good taste, modernity and bringing that together with elements of traditional... there's also an pinch of seductiveness in her style which I personally love... Take a peek and see what you think.
