Ugly Betty set: Wilhemina Slaters apartment

Ugly Betty finally made a return to our screens, the wait is a little longer in Greece! But I'm glad the first episode of the final season did not disappoint. This is the first time i've notice how slick and glamorous looking Wilhemina Slater's apartment & office looks.

Small Space Style

This is one stylish bachelorette apartment in the heart of Toronto's trendy King West district. With only 730sq ft to work with, owner Tania Sarracini enlisted Jessica Kelly Design to help make this space feel like a spacious haven. The colour scheme is simple, neutral with the odd pop of colour to give the room a lift. The ceiling to floor mirrored wall immediately gives an illusion of a larger room whilst lights bounces back into the room.

Inspiration: Cool Kids Spaces

Of one of the spaces i tend to think about least are kid's nurseries and bedrooms, but with a lot of my couples ready to pop with their sprogs i'm delving into unchartered territories to help inspire their already growing little ones and also to provide a little inspiration for the newcomer's arrival. Check out the below for some serious awesomeness!

I'm a big fan of the lovely couple Sherry & John over at Young House Love and their complete home rennovation skills! Seriously these guys know all kinds of DIY. Recently they've introduced a new member to their family and along the way they've been turning what used to be a guest room into the nursery for their baby girl. You can see more of the transformation here, but here's a little taster. I particularly like the closet space with dinky clothes hung up!

Lemon Drops

Don't you just love how a dash of lemon be it a soft pastel or citrus neon, makes a room so much more colourful and fresh? A particular favourite combo of mine is grey with pops of lemon.

Recipe for Success

I'm an avid cook but with a terrible memory for remembering quantities and stuff for recipes, so i always have to refer to the recipe itself when making/baking/cooking something. These images struck me as an awesome idea for displaying recipes whilst cooking though! The blackboard one is brilliant - that way you won't have to keep peeking at the recipe book -mine is filled with semi grubby finger prints and sauce drips!

Friday Favourites!

These images are what's rocking at the moment! From gorgeous wallpaper, stunning dramatic foyers, slick family rooms, French country style rooms and more rustic Scandinavian style interiors.
I'm just discovering a few favourite people too, Jonathan Berger (use of colour) and Miles Redd (always brilliant when it comes to wallpaper choices& producing a very distinct look)- I love their style!

There's another side of me that loves cozy, simplicity, rustic elegance, neutral tones & country style living. I think my getaway home or holiday home on an island would have elements of these images. Am loving how the framed images are displayed on the shelf high up, the exposed bricking below with flashes of turquoise and the furnace/fireplace in the living room below.

This foyer designed by Susan Ferrier, I love a warm pink tones, the cozy & welcoming entrance with the addition of the 17th century chair - a very cool feature indeed.
