Pou tha pass yia thiakopes?

Where will you be going for summer this August to escape the heat in the city? Epiplo Aris will be looking forward to a short break soon, but now we're liking the look of Eagles Nest in the Bay of Islands, New Zealand. The Bay of Islands is located in the Northern region of New Zealand at the very top of the North Island. It's renowned for its stunning scenery, subtropical climate, fishing and boating excursions.
We discovered Eagles Nest tucked away in the Tapeka tip of Russell Peninsula
on Mr & Mrs Smith, a collection of 6luxury villas which overlook the bay. Each Villa is set on a whopping 75 acres of privately owned land & ridgeline, each uniquely designed with a contemporary edge. The images below are of just one of the spectacular & heavenly boltholes - The Rahimoana villa

Delectable tablewear - by Blaue Blume

How's this for fancy tablewear? Today we're loving the cool red shoes/gold shoes range of table wear by Blaue Blume from Undergrowth Design. Am digging the cool white earthenwear with lace ceramic detail, plus the little legs poking out.
The sexy little sugar bowl comes with matching Milk jug, teapot, cups and saucers, what a wonderful tea party that would make!

At Epiplo Aris, we love colour. Really we do, however how about decorating your home in pale subdued colours, textures and tones? How would you go about doing this in order to make your home feel welcoming, interesting and full of life?
We're loving inspiration of all sorts, particularly that of Interior Stylist, Atlanta Bartlett & writer, Karena Callen who have teamed up to bring you a brilliant book - 'At home with white'.
Here are a few snapshots to get you in the white mood.

A room full of air, light and peace.

Diamonds are Forever: Elrod House, Palm Springs

Speaking of homes in the desert, remember that scene in 'Diamonds are Forever' where Thumper and Bambi totally throw James Bond about and pretty much beat him to a pulp?
Well that spectacular set was filmed in Elrod House, Palm Springs, Nevada and is the brilliant work of architect John Lautner. For more information about the architect click here.

Minimalist, organic lighting and uber stylish.

Desert Homes

Sorry we've been away for a long time. The weather is something else in the city and there's simply no escaping as we're in the height of summer in Athens. What has subconsciously been on our minds is imagining ourselves living in the midst of this heat but in the desert. The organic, ruggedness of the landscape that surrounds you, the tranquility that echoes through the desert and the dry heat so instant, so everywhere and so real.

We were struck by the incredible design & beauty of these images from Architectural Digest, aren't they something? This is definitely on our lust-list for sure!

This is Ocean's 11, 12 & 13's Producers weekend getaway! Loving the retractable glass walls and 'float' pool... sigh...

This mindblowing apartment is designed by Marmol Radziner in the Utah desert offering total privacy seeing as it's set in 100acres of desert. For more stunning images and info click here.

This heavenly interior are the works of Donna Livingston who used slabs of stone and wood throughout. This is what i call a dreamy sanctuary and a mind-blowing entrance.
